Current status and improvement opportunities for onboarding paediatric acute care cardiology advanced practice providers

A national survey of pediatric heart centers found that onboarding practices for advanced practice providers (APPs) in pediatric acute care cardiology vary widely, with many programs lacking standardized training. Most respondents felt their current approach does not fully meet new providers’ needs and agreed that a structured, online curriculum would be beneficial. The findings highlight the need for a national, adaptable onboarding curriculum to better prepare APPs for this specialized field.
